PAS 5208 Lifelong Learning, Integrity in Practice, Outreach & Service, Nurturing Communities V
This LION course is the 5thof 6 LION courses and integrates didactic learning experiences with clinical exposures and the development of the required Master’s project (thesis or paper for publication). Exposures align physician assistant (PA) students with the performance of research, patient contact, and interprofessional education opportunities that are integrated with the clinical year curriculum beginning in LION IV. Students develop a thesis or paper for publication, participate during in-patient, out-patient care, and avail themselves of community health care learning opportunities with PA faculty, preceptors, and varied healthcare providers for preparation into clinical practice. Integration of medical knowledge, patient care, interpersonal/communication skills, and professionalism essential for practice is emphasized. During LION V the student will focus on drafting the updated reference list, data collection, statistical analysis (i.e. tables or graphs, etc.), conclusion, appendices if needed, and drafting the final written presentation submitted for review.
