PAS 5202 Women’s Health Clerkship
The Clerkship on Gynecological, Sexual, & Reproductive Health: Gynecologic Diseases, Prenatal and Postpartum Care offers Physician Assistant (PA) students a focused, hands-on clinical experience in providing comprehensive care to women during the prenatal and postpartum periods. This course emphasizes the holistic management of maternal health, incorporating physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being as integral components of care. Students will engage directly with patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings, working alongside experienced clinicians to deliver high-quality care for women navigating pregnancy, childbirth, and the early postpartum period. Students will explore the social determinants of maternal health and learn strategies to reduce health disparities, particularly for low-income and minority populations.
Prerequisite
Admission to the Physician Assistant Program and Successful Completion of all didactic and clinical courses to date.
