PAS 5203 Lifelong Learning, Integrity in Practice, Outreach & Service, Nurturing Communities IV
This LION course is the 4th of 6 LION courses and integrates didactic learning experiences with clinical exposures and the development of the required Master’s project (thesis or paper for publication). Exposures align the PA student with the performance of research, patient contact, and interprofessional education opportunities that are integrated within the clinical year curriculum beginning in LION IV. Students develop a thesis or paper for publication, participate during in-patient, out-patient care, and avail themselves of community health care learning opportunities with PA faculty, preceptors, and varied healthcare providers for preparation into clinical practice. Integration of medical knowledge, patient care, interpersonal/communication skills, and professionalism essential for practice is emphasized. During LION IV the student will follow-up the research project and continue their subject recruitment, data collection, data analysis, formulate a discussion section, and discuss the results.
