Professional nursing will be introduced through anexploration of concepts and issues that shape thedevelopment of the competent, caring, professionalnurse. Emphasis will be placed on professionalsocialization via an exploration of historicalevents and nursing theories and frameworks thathave shaped professional nursing practice.
