EDU 5308 Best Practices in Educational Technology Leadership
This course will examine how the role of the educational technologist has changed in recent history. The course will guide students through planned organizational change for the purpose of integrating instructional technology into the inclusive K-12 classrooms. Teachers will evaluate implications for including web tools and applications online, as well as devices such as smart phones, iPads and communication and listening devices to promote effective educational technology teaching. This course discovers the new classroom including the digital learning environment including how technology transforms the learning process. Students will discover different technology roles in K-12 environment, including teacher leaders, coaches and school leaders. Students will learn effective ways to inform, sustain and evaluate change for the purpose of integrating technology into teaching. This course is offered for Professional Development. Advance Education Division Program approval needed to satisfy Education Technology Program degree requirements.
