NUR 430 Complementary & Alternative Approaches
This course provides an introduction toevidenced-based complementary and alternativeapproaches. The goal is to provide the studentwith knowledge and experience of mind/bodyself-healing skills, multi-ethnic alternativemedicine theories, practice environments andinterventions that can be integrated into nursingand/or the nurse's personal lifestyle. Thephilosophical assumptions of complementary andalternative approaches will be examined throughthe application of critical thinking. Studentswill become familiar with current evidenced-basedpeer-reviewed literature. Controversial modalitieswill be critically examined to understand howthese modalities improve health and well-being.
