Doctor of Professional Studies (DPS) in Organizational Systems Management

The Doctorate in Professional Studies in Organizational Systems Management focuses on professional development within the organizational/professional context. This PhD is open to all professions, as the focus is defined by the candidate's particular work context and area of activity. This may be located within a profession or sector or may be more individual in nature. It is mainly concerned with knowledge that is generated and used in practice. Emphasis is placed on the evaluation of organizations with attention to their functioning and effectiveness at the individual, group, and organizational levels.

The Metropolitan Campus is authorized to offer this program.

Program Goals

  1.  Prepare professionals capable of analyzing the performance and effectiveness of organizations through new analysis and intervention methodologies at the individual, group, and organizational level.

  2. Prepare professionals who can develop and apply their skills in research or professional practices to address current and complex problems in an increasingly diverse and global society.

Program Objectives

  1. Train professionals trained in the management of organizations, capable of articulating diagnostic and intervention processes in organizational contexts at the individual, group and organizational levels.

  2. Provide students with multiple methodologies and strategies to articulate interventions in organizational contexts at the individual, group, and organizational level.

  3. Promote an attitude of openness to continuous learning in the face of new organizational challenges in contemporary society.

The program is designed to develop the skills that allow the student to:

Knowledge

  1. Integrate the various approaches in organizational design, their impact on efficiency and the effective management of change and transformation processes.

  2. Synthesize empirical, methodological, and theoretical knowledge that addresses current work-based issues and that contributes to your practice as a professional.

Abilities

  1. Develop models, systems, and instruments in the organizational context to attract, retain and develop the potential of human capital.

  2. Implement diagnostic and organizational development processes.

Attitudes

  1. Assess the importance of ethical dilemmas and contradictory values that may arise in professional practice and work situations.

Admission requirements

In addition to meeting the admission requirements established in the current Graduate Catalog, the student must:

  1. Possess a master's degree from an accredited university.

  2. Have completed the master's degree with a minimum academic index of 3.00.

  3. Master the Spanish and English languages.Submit an essay about your professional career.

Retention requirements

To remain in the Program the student must comply with the following:

  1. Maintain a minimum GPA of 3.00.

  2. Not obtain a grade of C or less, in the same course, on more than one occasion.

Graduation Requirements

To obtain the degree of Doctorate in Professional Studies in Management of Organizational Systems, the student must meet the academic requirements of the doctoral degree described in this Catalog. Additionally, you must meet the following program-specific requirements:

  1. Pass all courses in the program with a minimum overall average of 3.00.

  2. Pass the Doctoral Candidacy Exam with a minimum score of 70%

  3. Defend and approve the professional project.
