Crisis Intervention (Post-Bachelor Professional Certificate)
The Professional Certificate in Crisis Intervention aims to train professionals capable of offering competent, sensitive, effective, safe and quality care to the individual, family, group, and community that are going through times of crisis.
The San Germán Campus is authorized to offer this certificate.

This Professional Certification in Crisis Intervention is designed to develop the competences that allow the student to:

Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of:
- the fundamental concepts of nursing interventions in crisis situations.
- the process of decision making and problem solving as a basis for providing safe and rapid care during a crisis situation.
- nursing intervention models in crisis situations according to the stages of growth and development.
Abilities
- Execute competent and safe care in accordance with the practice standards of the profession.
- Participate with the health team in the rapid and safe intervention, so that the person can return to his way of functioning prior to the crisis.
- Apply management and leadership skills to promote changes in the benefits of the person in crisis.

- Evaluate your professional role with responsibility and commitment.
- Value ethical-legal principles by offering care in response to changing needs in crisis situations.
- Demonstrate responsibility and commitment to their own development and to the profession.
Admission Requirements
- Comply with all the admission regulations established in the Graduate Catalog.
- To be a candidate for admission to the Program, the student must:
- Submit evidence of holding a Bachelor in Nursing from a recognized and accredited institution of higher education with a minimum average of 2.50.
- Hold a Generalist Nurse license issued by the Board of Examiners of Nurses of Puerto Rico.
Academic Progress Requirements
- Comply with all the academic progress rules established in the Graduate Catalog.
- Pass all courses with a minimum grade of B.
Graduation Requirements
In addition to fulfilling all the graduation requirements established in the Graduate Catalog, the applicant for this Professional Certificate in Crisis Intervention through the one-year program must:
- Be a regular student.
- Obtain a minimum academic index of 3.00.
