Policy: USU supports faculty development. Core Faculty are required to participate in at least one professional development activity per academic year. Activities include, but are not limited to scholarly work, conference attendance, conference presentations, continuing education courses, and obtaining advanced degrees.
Purpose: Professional development is a faculty responsibility as part of the faculty role. Professional development activities should be submitted with the annual review. Adjunct faculty are encouraged to participate in at least one professional development activity per academic year. Additional evidence of professional development may be required or requested from the College Dean to meet standards for specialty, licensing, or accreditation standards.
Scope: This policy applies to all USU Faculty.
