Program Overview

The Associate in Science (A.S.) degree program enables mid-career adults in a wide range of applied fields meet their educational and professional needs. Students select an area of study that matches their expertise or profession. Several degree programs require students to possess professional certification or licensures. In some cases, precalculus algebra and calculus-level mathematic skills are required to complete course requirements. In addition, if more than half of the 60 credits transferred into the program are more than 10 years old at the time of application, students must demonstrate the currency of their knowledge.
While the Associate in Science is considered to be a terminal degree, many, but not all, of the credits may be applied to one of the University’s bachelor's degree programs. It is a 60-credit program.
*Students pursuing the AS degree in Criminal Justice have different program requirements. See that section for specific requirements.
