A.S. in Radiation Therapy

Area of Study Overview

Return to the W. Cary Edwards School of Nursing and Health Professions Homepage

The Associate in Science (A.S.) degree program with an area of study in Radiation Therapy is limited to certified, licensed radiation therapy technologists. The program enables mid-career adults meet their educational and professional needs through credit transfer and course completion, positing graduates to transition to the Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Applied Science and Technology program. While the Associate in Science is considered to be a terminal degree, many, but not all, of the credits may be applied to one of the University’s bachelor's degree programs. It is a 60-credit program.

NOTE:

How Students Earn Credit in the Area of Study:

  • Certification: Registered Technologist in Radiation Therapy RT (T) ARRT (ARR-RT T) and NJ LR T copy of original certification and current renewal card.
  • The certification covers almost all the credits required in the option.
  • Radiation therapy courses are not available at the University, but rather from certificates, transfer, or prior learning assessment (PLA).
