COUN 518 Introduction to Career Counseling

The purpose of this course is to introduce students to career development theory and application. Students will have the opportunity to learn the history of vocational counseling and become familiar with the developmental theories that are a hallmark of the field’s evolution and practice. Students will be introduced to how theory is practiced in a variety of settings and with diverse populations. Students will also learn about the relationship between work and mental health, career development across the lifespan, and ethical issues.Course Entry Requirement: Admission into MAC program
