ED 5543 TEACHING SCIENCE TO ADOLESCENTS

This course is designed to give an overview of methods, materials and curriculum for teaching science and interdisciplinary connections in keeping with national and state standards. Students will focus on unit and curriculum development, including individualized and student-centered approaches to instruction. Emphasis will be placed on biology and chemistry. Students will develop skills in the use of demonstration activities and laboratory sciences. Adaptation for students with disabilities will be included. Consideration will be given to the integration of technology in teaching. Fieldwork id required.
