Policy: The University requires training for all personnel.

The University requires annual compliance training each year for all personnel, regardless of position or location. This training must be completed by the assigned due date in order to remain an active employee. Trainings include, but are not limited to: Title IX training, FERPA training, and Sexual Harassment Prevention training. Other ad hoc training or department/position specific training may be assigned as needed.

The University requires managers to ensure their teams complete the training in a timely manner. In addition, managers receive additional required training based on their supervisory role. Failure to complete training by the manager and/or staff may lead to disciplinary action for the manager and/or staff, up to and including termination.

Training is a part of an employee's workload. However, adjunct faculty will be compensated for training time, as it is not part of their teaching workload.

Purpose: The purpose of this policy is to provide clarity on the University's training requirements and also to ensure adherence to all legal and regulatory training requirements relevant to both higher education and overall federal employment laws.

Scope: This policy applies to all University personnel.
