Library Services

The Leonard S. Washington Memorial Library (LSWML) is located in the center of the Park Campus. The library was recently renovated to provide users with a variety of classroom and study spaces. Technology in the library was upgraded to ensure students and faculty have access to modern tools and resources. LSWML also serves as a resource for the New Orleans community as a designated government deposit. The library provides a collection of print and electronic resources to support the curricular, reference, research and recreational interests of students, faculty, staff and the community. The general print collection is organized according to the Library of Congress Classification System in an open-stack area on the second and third floors of the building. Patrons also have access to thousands of password-protected E-books and electronic journals that may be accessed via the internet from any computer device. In addition to books and journals the library provides study rooms, gallery space, laptops, projectors and other items for patron use. Instructional training is also available to users via one-on-one or small groups on request. Call 286-5225 or 286-5227 when you need assistance.

A valid SUNO ID or LALINC card along with a valid State ID (plus paid fee receipt for SUNO/SUSLA students) is required to establish a library account. You must present a valid SUNO ID or LALINC card along with a valid State ID to check-out library materials and/or use the library resources after an account is created.
