ITA 3250 Contemporary Italy

The course introduces students to contemporary Italian culture, society and politics focusing in particular on those features that are peculiar to Italy. Course topics include Italian cinema, Italian applied arts (fashion and graphics), Italian theatre, television and music, as well as important current social and political events. By the end of the course, students will be familiar with the fundamental contributions of contemporary Italian culture and fit contemporary Italy into the broader framework of contemporary European and world political history.
