ITA 3510 Contemporary Italian Literature

Aimed at students who are already proficient in their linguistic competencies, this course expands and reinforces knowledge of the Italian language through the study of its main literary authors. Designed to offer an overview of Italy's main artistic and literary movements of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, it is based on a rich array of works belonging to different genres: novel, short story, poetry, and drama. Through close analysis of the literary language presented, it fosters a critical and analytical approach to the text, holding advanced linguistic and cultural proficiency as its ultimate goal.
