Prerequisites:

Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice or Bachelor's degree in another field and permission of the Director of Criminal Justice Program.

Graduate students will be able to:

  • Identify, critically analyze, and evaluate current criminal justice theories.
  • Identify, explain, and assess judicial review and Constitutional rights.
  • Describe the scientific method and evaluate criminal justice research and policy.
  • Summarize ethical theories and apply those theories to specific situations.
  • Compare and contrast democratic principles and apply them to specific criminal justice situations.
  • Use written and oral communication skills to demonstrate high level of understanding of a major topic in criminal justice
