MHC 5120 Counseling Theories
(formerly MHC 512)
This course will examine a variety of counseling theories to provide a foundation for practice for professional mental health counselors. The course focuses on the philosophical and theoretical foundations of counseling theory and practice, as well as how these are applied to prevention, development, empowerment and change in individuals. Counseling practices related to specific theoretical orientations will be presented and discussed.
