Basic assessments of the five health-relatedcomponents of fitness are presented. Course topicsinclude review and practice of assessments formuscular strength and endurance; flexibility, bodycomposition and cardiovascular fitness. Analysisof relationships between physical fitness anddegenerative diseases are presented and discussed.The role of exercise in a wellness lifestyle andmethods of evaluating and prescribing physicalfitness activities will also be covered.
