GEOG 335 Sustainability

This course is an exploration of the threecomponents fundamental to sustainabledevelopment: economic growth, environmentalprotection, and social equity. Students reviewbasic concepts and theories of bothmicroeconomics and macroeconomics, includingcosts and benefits, economic growth, income,wealth, equity, and poverty, and then explore hownations, through economic growth, can meet theirbasic needs of employment, food, energy, water,and sanitation. Students also examine hownatural resources can be used, conserved, andenhanced.
