GEOG 315 Environmental Policy and Planning
The purpose of this course is to provide studentswith an overview of key environmental legislationand policy as its impact at the federal, state andlocal levels of government and governance. Thiscourse will evaluate the management anddecision-making aspects of (environmental) impactstatements under the U.S. Environmental ProtectionAct, Florida's Land and Water Management Act of1972, and as a component of the state of Florida'scomprehensive planning process. In addition, thiscourse will provide students with a fundamentalunderstanding of ecological processes andconcepts. This course will also explorehistorical and current environmental policy, andhow that policy is integrated into environmentalplanning.
