SOWO 7150 Family Therapy in Social Work
Analysis of social work intervention in family therapy in Puerto Rico. Discussion of clinical models of intervention in social work beginning with contemporary family therapy approaches which contemplate the complexities families confront. Application of the therapeutic process and the social work function in family therapy. Critical examination of the conditions of oppression, discrimination and the lack of opportunities that families face and which condition their family function. Emphasis on the importance of professional ethics in family therapy. Requires a minimum of 15 hours of lab.
