Procedure after Admission to the University for Graduate Study

Successful applicants will receive a letter of acceptance from the Graduate College. The Dean of the Graduate College is the only one with the authority to extend an offer of admission. A notification (letter, email, or phone call) from a graduate department/program stating you have been recommended for admission does not constitute a formal offer of admission.

The graduate program director or graduate program coordinator will provide information on degree requirements, registration, and other procedures. Students should have their schedules approved each semester by their graduate program coordinator or program director (or an approved substitute) before registering for courses.

Master level students must maintain a total 3.0 GPA or higher and doctoral students must maintain a 3.25 or higher on all graduate coursework in order to avoid probation or suspension.
