ED 327 Teaching Children’s Literature in the Elementary Classroom

This course explores traditional and contemporary children’s literature and its role in a diverse elementary classroom. Research-based methods for teaching struggling readers will also be examined. Students will explore explicit strategies that support culturally diverse and ELL students using research-based strategies through the use of children’s books. This course focuses on 21st century learning skills with an integration of technology and academic standards into K-8 children’s literature instruction.
