Digital Marketing

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (2020), Marketing Managers are among the most highly paid professionals in the modern workforce with a median annual wage of $132, 640.   The number of job postings calling for digital skills has nearly doubled in the last five years (source: Burning Glass)and is expected to increase at a rate of 8% over the next eight years, which is higher than average (source: Bureau of Labor Statistics). Marketing campaigns are considered essential as organizations seek to grow their market share.   Digital Marketing (DM) growth is expected in industries that target customers through websites, live chat, and social media (which is a majority of industries).  As digital media continues to grow in importance, marketers who can navigate the digital world should have the best job prospects (Source: Bureau of Labor Statistics). Digital marketing skills carry nearly a $7000 salary premium over other marketing roles (Source: Burning Glass).

Digital marketing knowledge is more valuable than ever. The exploding growth in digital has created a high demand to fill the growing number of positions.  Hiring managers of one industry study indicated that marketing and digital marketing positions have the highest demand and were the most difficult to fill (Source:24 Seven Talent 2019).  Businesses of all sizes and types are changing the composition of their marketing teams to include more digital expertise. A degree in DM will provide students with ample job opportunities, a desirable income, and sufficient flexibility in location, industry focus, and working from home.Students securing a job in this field will be able to impact and engage the evolving digital world that influences almost every modern individual.
