Early Admissions

The Early Admission program is designed to meet the needs of students who are prepared academically, socially, and emotionally for entrance into Mount Saint Mary College after the junior year of high school. Provisions are made to enable the student to complete the remaining requirements for a high school diploma, such as a unit in English or Social Studies, while simultaneously being engaged in a regular college program of study. A student applying for this program should have a solid academic profile, including a rigorous schedule of courses taken throughout high school and a strong grade point average (GPA). A personal interview with a member of the Office of Admission is required of all Early Admission candidates.

The applicant for Early Admission must submit the following to the Office of Admission:

• A completed admission application
• Official high school transcript
• Certification from the applicant's guidance counselor of courses still to be completed to satisfy high school graduation requirements
• Letter of recommendation from a counselor and a letter from at least one academic instructor
• Written explanation as to why the student is seeking Early Admission to Mount Saint Mary College

Mount Saint Mary College reserves the right to request additional information from an Early Admission candidate to assist the Office of Admission in conducting a holistic review of the application for admission.
