Degree Requirements

A minimum of 34 credits is required for the MBA. Although, a maximum of 52 credits may be required for the MBA, that is subject to waivers which may result in a minimum of 34 credits being taken. See waiver policy under Admissions. Note, however, that since the Accounting BS/MBA Program is a 5-year track only available to MSMC undergraduates, waivers are usually provided to students for all of the Additional Foundational Core courses. 

The credits are distributed as follows:

  1. For Accounting/Business Administration BS/MBA, core courses are 25 credits not including the 6 credits in capstones, and one required elective
  2. For Accounting/Business Administration BS/MBA, 3 credits (one course) of elective credits;
  3. For Accounting/Business Administration BS/MBA, three semester hours of the capstone course, MGT6510 capstone course, and three semester hours of either the MGT 6530 or MGT 6600 capstone course.

Required Core Courses

The core curriculum provides students with a background in understanding of the basic tools and techniques employed by contemporary managers, with a working knowledge of the various functional areas of business and exposure to the larger environment in which businesses must function.

Required Capstone Course

Degree Completion

Since the Accounting BS/MBA Program is a 5-year track only available to MSMC undergraduates, student enrolled in the 5-year track Program, and who follow the recommended 2 courses per session course load, should be able to complete their MBA in one calendar year (summers included) following their graduation with the BS degree.
