Part-Time Scholarships and Grants
In accordance with federal regulations, students are only eligible to receive Title IV aid for classes that are required for degree completion. If a student is registered for courses that are not counting toward degree requirements, the student will not receive federal, state, or institutional financial aid for those non-required classes. This could result in receiving part-time financial aid when registered as a full-time student.
Students enrolled in fewer than 12 aid-eligible credit hours in a given semester receive a prorated amount of their financial aid.
Institutional aid is prorated to the following percentages:
9 – 11.5 credit hours: 75%
6 – 10.5 credit hours: 50%
1 – 5.5 credit hours: 25%
State scholarships and grants are adjusted based on the guidance released for that specific scholarship or grant. The Federal Pell Grant is prorated per credit hour as determined by the U.S. Department of Education. Students become ineligible for federal direct loans when registered for fewer than 6 credit hours counting toward degree requirements
