POLS 205 Campaigns and Elections

An examination of how people run for office in the United States, especially for the presidency and Congress. Topics include campaign strategy, the role of parties, interest groups, media, electoral rules, and money on campaigns, and voting behavior. Also considered is what elections really decide besides the identity of office holders. Offered during election years, and the election during the semester is incorporated into writing assignments and class discussions.
