NUR 531 Human Resource Management in Healthcare

Attracting, managing, and retaining employees in healthcare is a multifaceted challenge. This course will examine the human resource functions including legal and regulatory requirements, recruitment and retention efforts, diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives (DEI), performance measures and evaluations, and the creation of a safe work environment. In addition, the course will explore the role of the nurse leader in partnering with HR colleagues to contribute to a successful working environment.  Students will integrate knowledge with practice through interviews and observations of human resource and clinical leaders.
