MSL 402 Leadership in a Complex World
This course explores the dynamics of leading inthe complex situations of current militaryoperations in the COE. Cadets examine differencesin customs and courtesies, military law,principles of war, and rules of engagement in theface of international terrorism. They also exploreaspects of interacting with nongovernmentalorganizations, civilians on the battlefield, andhost nation support. The course places significantemphasis on preparing cadets for their first unitof assignment. It uses case studies, scenarios,and "What Now, Lieutenant?" exercises to preparecadets to face the complex ethical and practicaldemands of leading as commissioned officers in theUnited States Army.
