FREN 409 The French Novel
Topics and approaches will vary from year to year.The course may present a chronological study (fromMadame de la Fayette to Camus and Robbe-Grillet)or concentrate on an historical period or theme(e.g., the realistic novel of the nineteenthcentury or women writers). The course will focuson the novel as a genre and on the differenttechniques used by French writers in differentliterary periods.
