Hardin-Simmons Writing Center
The ACE Writing Center is located adjacent to the ACE on the first floor of the Richardson Library and provides one-on-one support in writing across all disciplines. The WC accepts walk-ins and/or appointments. A healthy part of the writing process for all good writers is to seek feedback. Therefore, the purpose of using the Writing Center is NOT to have a paper or project edited; rather, students who come to the WC engage in an active partnership in the consultation and revision process, thus gaining the chance to take ownership in the educational experience. The goal of the WC is to help students gain maturity and confidence in their ever-growing writing skills.
Students should not expect a proofreading service; the WC staff will support others in the writing process and teach them how to proofread their own work. Students should come to the WC with an open mind and a willingness to challenge themselves to become better writers.
