COM-340 FILM GENRES
This course will examine the concepts of film genre by looking at two genres in the same semester. In the first half of the semester, students will be introduced to the ideas with an easily identifiable genre, such as the musical or the Western. In the second half, students will build on their knowledge by applying the concepts to a genre that is more difficult to define (such as film noir) or that blends over into other genres (such as the horror/fantasy/science- fiction crossover). Prerequisite: ENG 111
