This course will provide an interactive forum for the faculty to share their clinical expertise and experiences, best practices and other topics of interest. This course will serve as the didactic component of the year 3 curriculum. Learning objectives will focus on a higher level of learning which includes concept formation and connection, visualization, problem solving, questioning, idea generation, with emphasis on practical thinking (application), synthesizing/creative thinking and analytical (critical) thinking. This series of lectures/conferences will be delivered grand rounds style and will require participation by all third-year students, regardless of rotation. In the spring semester, students will have the opportunity to research and collaborate with their peers and clinical faculty on an interesting topic they encountered during their previous clinical rotations and enhance their communication skills by presenting that topic/case for discussion. At the end of the year, students will be tested to assess knowledge gained, skill level growth and level of competency in applying what they have learned in all the clinical rotations they participated in the third year.
