POLS 4328 Global Political Economy
This course focuses on the study of global economic power relations from the 16th Century to the present, with specific focus on how state-market-society relations transformed after the Second World War, and the again in the 1970s with the advent and consolidation of a neoliberal world order. You will learn about the policymaking process surrounding free trade agreements and the role of transnational corporations, labor unions, social movements, and local governments in crafting and responding to these global agreements.
