MATH 8371 Differential Geometry

The course will introduce students to the study of smooth manifolds, fiber bundles, connections on bundles, differential forms, Lie groups, and Riemannian manifolds. Thereafter, integration on manifolds and Stokes’ theorem will be covered, as well as de Rham cohomology. If time allows, characteristic classes and aspects of Chern-Weil theory will be introduced.
