Information Technology

The associate degree in Information Technology is designated for students interested in working in computer support or information technology. A computer or information technology support specialist provides technical support for a company, an organization’s customers, or an organization’s employees. They carry a variety of titles such as technical support specialist, information technology specialist (IT specialists), computer technician, among others. Students with an associate’s in Information Technology would be qualified for positions such as IT Technician, Help Desk Technician, Technical Support, and Desktop Specialist. The coursework includes general education courses and major-specific courses. Should a student wish to transition to a USM Bachelor of Science degree in Cybersecurity, the courses completed as part of the Information Technology associate program will allow them to easily transition.
