Policy: The University's committee chairs or designee maintain and take minutes as an official record of actions taken during their meetings.  They serve as a written historical record and evidence of actual discussions and decision making.

Purpose: The purpose of the Meeting and Minutes policy is to ensure there is consistency in official recording of topics and actions items taken place, serve a historical purpose, and have a legal purpose, document a committees/group's adherence to procedures and/or bylaws. 

Scope: This policy shall apply to all University committees within the University's shared governance. 

Members and Responsibilities: The meeting chairs, or designee member, are responsible for documenting and archiving meeting dates and minutes for their committee.
