CR 431 Advanced Criminological Theory

This course teaches the theoretical approach to crime as a phenomenon of society. The student will examine theories of crime causation and their development. Application of these theories to better real-world conditions will also be addressed. Theories regarding crime victims and victimization will also be covered. The student will also be exposed to the current treatment of victims by the criminal justice system and society as a whole. An overview of analyzing theory with regard to policy is also covered.

Students must have completed CR 112 and their Woods Core Social Science requirement prior to taking this course.
