Animal Welfare
It is the policy of Ogeechee Technical College that the care, use, and treatment of animals on its campus should be of the highest quality and should comply completely with all federal, state, and local regulations. Federal law requires that all persons involved with the use of animals in teaching know how to report deficiencies in animal care and treatment. Anyone who has knowledge of a deficiency is obligated to report it to the proper Ogeechee Technical College authorities immediately. Under no circumstances will reporting an incident in good faith be detrimental to an individual‘s standing at Ogeechee Technical College.
Animal welfare concerns include the following:
The wrongful or abusive physical or psychological treatment of an animal
Non-compliance with established procedures, policies or protocols
The Animal Welfare Act specifies that a basic function of the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) is to review and, if warranted, investigate concerns involving the care and use of animals at Ogeechee Technical College. If you have questions or concerns about the animal care or animal handling at OTC, please contact Ms. Crystal Ivey, Chair of the IACUC, at

Ms. Crystal Ivey or from the program instructors.
