PSY 3270 COGNITIVE PSYCHOLOGY

This course will provide an introduction to the field of cognitive psychology. Cognitive psychology is the branch of psychology that studies the internal processes of the mind such as memory, attention, perception, and decision making. In this course, students will be provided with a basic foundation in cognitive psychology, learn about classic experiments in the field, learn the techniques with which research on cognition is acquired, learn about developments in and applications of the field, and be exposed to examples of current research in the field. At the end of this class, students should have an appreciation of the contribution of cognitive psychology to our understanding of the mind.
