ART 1710 History of Animation
This course will outline the history of animation from its inception through contemporary achievements in computer/digital motion picture technology. Historical context will be intrinsically linked to the concept of each animation feature length film, film short or documentary screened on a weekly basis. Classics by Walt Disney, Warner Brothers, the Fleisher Brothers, the UPA and Pixar in addition to foreign animation examples (such as Anime) and television classics will be shown and discussed. Fulfills General Education Art History requirement.
