ENG 3140 Dante

A study of the Divine Comedy in translation, with particular attention to the poem as the journal of a soul's conversion and as the interpretation of the human journey in the light of values new-found. The philosophical and theological premises of the poem are considered, as are the literary judgments enshrined in it. (Major author course.)
