SLP 5380 Counseling in Speech-Language Pathology

This course will explore the role of the speech-language pathologist in addressing the psychological and social-emotional needs of the clients and families they provide speech-language pathology services to. Counseling strategies and methods, scope of practice and referrals will be addressed. The course will be co-taught by faculty from both the mental health professions and the communication sciences and disorders program.
