SWK 4800 Information Technology in Social Work

This course introduces students to the fundamental concepts of information technology with an emphasis on the role of technology in contemporary social work practice. Using the NASW/ASWB Standards for Technology and Social Work Practice as a framework, the course will provide students with an opportunity to explore the potential benefits and ethical/legal concerns related to the use of technology in social work settings. Students will also gain extensive hands-on experience using word-processing, spreadsheet and presentation software that will benefit their professional practice and the research requirements in the Senior Capstone course.
