CRJ 5430 Police Corruption and Integrity

(formerly CRJ 543)

This course will introduce the student to the study of police corruption and integrity. It will examine different theories and rationale that have been offered for incidents of police misconduct, integrity lapses and illegal acts, as well as, focusing on the factors which help contribute to these acts. It will explore the history and application of social, cultural and institutional perspectives on the causation, continuance and response to different behaviors displayed by law enforcement personnel.
