Admission with Associate of Arts or Associate of Science Degree
Marietta College encourages application for admission from students completing their Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degree. Any graduate of an accredited two-year college with an A.A. or an A.S. degree and a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.500 (on a 4.000 scale) may be admitted with junior class standing (a minimum of 59 semester credit hours). Most students with A.A. or A.S. degrees can obtain a Bachelor’s degree from Marietta College in two years. In each case, of course, the ability to do so depends upon the number of courses taken at the two-year college that will meet:
- Marietta’s General Education and other Undergraduate Degree Requirements and
- The requirements for the major selected by the student.
Students entering Marietta College with an A.A. or A.S. degree may request exemption from the Secondary Concentration requirement. In cases where the associate's degree include the Ohio Transfer 36 curriculum, or a comparable core curriculum from institutions outside of Ohio, students may also receive exceptions to select general education requirements. Details will be provided with the formal evaluation of the final, official transcript reflecting successful completion of the associate's degree.
Associate of Applied Science degrees are evaluated on a course-by-course basis; advanced standing cannot be guaranteed.
