Child Care Assistant (0 to 5 years) (CCAS - Code C010)
The purpose of the Child Care Assistant Certificate (0-5 years) is to train professionals committed to children, so that they offer enriching services and experiences that contribute to enhancing the strengths for children (0-5 years) to achieve a quality of full life. This technical certificate program trains the student with the skills for the care and education of children between 0-5 years old. The student will integrate basic knowledge about development and early intervention to collaborate with teachers, relatives or primary caregiver of children. It considers the design of educational experiences, with strategies and techniques to stimulate the child's development to maximize their comprehensive development from an early age.
The Metropolitan Campus is authorized to offer this Program.
- Students admitted in or before August 2021 - 25 credits / 960 hours
- New Students admitted in or after January 2022 - 30 credits / 900 hours

For students enrolled on or before August 2021, in compliance with the past regulations, (34 CFR 668.8 (1) (1) a minimum number of hours in work outside the classroom will be added to the specified hours. The details of the number of hours and the appropriate tasks for each course are defined in the course syllabus.
